Remove slats from the bottom by untying the lift cords, removing excess slats, then retying the cords and reattaching the bottom rail. Keep the extra slats in case you need them later.

Floor-length: ½ inch above the floor. Puddle style: 2–4 inches extra for a luxe look. Sill-length: ½ inch above the windowsill.
